Rest is so essential for our mental and physical well-being yet many of us don't get enough. These sessions (held monthly) enable you to carve out space to rest and replenish.
We can sometimes think of resting as 'doing nothing', but it's quite the opposite. When we offer our bodies rest they shift into the parasympathetic nervous system (sometimes known as rest & digest mode). Here our heart rate lowers, our breath eases, our digestive and immune systems are supported and our mind calms. When we live busy lives, rest allows us to reset.
Restorative Yoga is a beautiful practice that supports us in accessing rest. Through a series of longer held poses the body is invited to lean into the soft, support of props while being wrapped in the warmth of blankets. The session closes with.a Yoga Nidra, a guided meditation which translates as Yoga Sleep ( and that we soak up while lying down).
The venue has all the props you need here at the venue so just bring yourself and some comfy, cosy clothing.
Open to people of all levels. No experience of yoga is necessary.
